D.R.I. (abbreviation for Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) was formed in Houston, Texas in 1982.

D.R.I. never gained a mainstream audience but they were a source of inspiration for numerous bands as they were pioneers integrating hardcore punk roots with thrash metal.
